A LIBRARY IN THE WOODS

The local library in Wasilla, Alaska is an important community resource, used by local schools, families and businesses. The new identity was developed as part of a proposal package to secure funding for a new building. The logo design concept illustrates the importance of the library as a "lifeline" at the heart of Wasilla – keeping the community to connected to one another and outside world.

IMPACT

Funding Secured: MCG provided the architectural concept and visual identity to illustrate the design possibilities for a modern, polished new library, ultimately helping to secure funding for construction of the new building.

Community Resource: The new library provides an additional resource for the adjacent middle school, as well as multi-purpose functionality for wider community use off-hours.

A New Identity: While the final project was completed by a different firm, the City of Wasilla adopted the the lifeline element of the new logo as the library’s updated identity.
